A company-wide view of competencies with synchronized employee competence data.
Mapping Competencies for Accelerated Learning and Development
We created an internal Competence Matrix (CMX) to establish a single source of truth for development competency levels, centralize knowledge sharing to accelerate onboarding, boost skill development, and track trending technologies.
Notch is an award-winning, full-service custom software development company. Founded in 2014, we are recognized as the leading regional experts in Java-based B2B platforms and Agile practices.
Managing our global client base requires a catalog of skills and competencies. Likewise, to nurture talent in-house in a focused matter, we needed to understand the current state, and see which direction skills and interests were trending.
Notch designed and built Competence Matrix (CMX) as an internal web application that centralizes skills, project knowledge, and onboarding. It lets employees map and update competencies and interests, while Project Profiles capture key context and best practices for each engagement. This gives leaders a real‑time view of capabilities, speeds up onboarding, and better supports skill development.
