NotchForge™

One framework.
Every discipline.

Our umbrella framework for building custom software products, agentic systems, and AI models from discovery to deployment.

About

The framework behind every engagement

  • Everyone here works within the same framework, AI-native by default. Consistent quality across every discipline, every role, and every project.

  • Governance that holds regardless of team, project type, or scope. NotchForge™ is the result of years of deliberate practice, continuously refined in production.

Built into how we work

01
Business Data Interactions (BDI™)

Every engagement starts with what we call BDI™. Design the business value, manage the data that supports it, and map interactions with users, agents, and systems. Written in human language in a format supported for AI processing in all later stages. It is a step before spec-driven and test-driven development (SDD/TDD), when applicable.

02
The Curated Harness

The next step is building the curated harness for every delivery. Harnesses for software development agent swarms, or for agents performing business autonomy. We apply our expertise built through dedication to AI engineering to create the right setup, and use Sovera AI™ as the accelerator.

03
Humans in the co-op

Accountability stays with you and with us, a cooperation of human creativity and decision-making. NotchForge™ runs on adapted agile delivery frameworks designed to match the pace of building in the AI world.

Zero-Debt

We architect AI-native, clean-code foundations into every project, designing out technical debt from day one.

Business Context

Engineers own the domain model. Agents help write the code, so it reflects your business, not just the spec.

Security & Compliance

Guardrails are built into every workflow. Every action stays within your security and compliance rules.

Engineering Judgment

Engineers own the architecture. Coding agents operate within a defined scope. Judgment stays with the people.

End-to-End

Coding agents build and wire unit, integration, and E2E tests into CI from day one. Failures caught before production.

Your Stack. Your Call.

Cloud-based AI agents or fully sovereign on-premises infrastructure to meet data residency requirements.

  • Darko Špoljarić
    Vice President of AI

“Great engineering rests on three pillars: the discipline to build software that lasts, the intuition to catch what AI gets wrong, and the common sense to know when simpler is smarter.”

  • What NotchForge™ guarantees

    • 1
      Predictability
The same standard applies to all projects. Methodology and quality expectations are known before the engagement starts.
    • 2
      Transparency
When the question is how quality is ensured, the answer is a documented methodology. Easier to evaluate, faster to approve.
    • 3
      Compliance
Security and compliance are scoped from the start, with rigor tailored to the engagement and a consistent level of commitment.
    • 4
      Consistency
Standards persist across teams and are embedded in the system. Risk exposure remains consistent over time.

    NotchForge™
    What is NotchForge™?

NotchForge™ is the framework behind every Notch engagement. It covers software development, agentic systems, and AI model delivery, from discovery to deployment. One framework, applied consistently across every discipline and every project.

Why does Notch have its own framework?

Consistency is hard to maintain without a system. NotchForge™ is the result of years of deliberate practice, built and refined in production. It means every project starts with the same quality expectations, methodology, and governance, regardless of scope, team, or project type.

    What disciplines does NotchForge™ cover?

    Three lifecycle tracks:

    1. Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). Software delivery with AI embedded across every role and stage.
    2. Agent Development Lifecycle (ADLC). How Notch scopes, builds, governs, and evolves autonomous agentic systems.
    3. Model Development Lifecycle (MDLC). AI model work from problem definition and data preparation through training, evaluation, and monitoring.

What is BDI, and why does it come first?

BDI stands for Business-Data-Interactions. It’s the step before any technical specification. Before writing a Software Design Document or Technical Design Document, we align on the business value, the data that supports it, and the interactions between users, agents, and systems. It’s written in plain language and structured for AI processing in all later stages. It makes sure technical work is grounded in business intent from day one.

    What is the Curated Harness?

Once BDI is complete, we build the Curated Harness for the engagement. For software development, that means a tailored agent swarm setup. For business autonomy, it means agents are configured to perform specific business tasks. We use Sovera AI™ as the accelerator. The setup reflects the specifics of your project, not a generic template.

Where do humans fit in NotchForge™ ?

Accountability stays with people, on both sides. NotchForge™ runs on adapted agile delivery frameworks designed to match the pace of building in the AI world. Engineers make the decisions that matter. Clients stay in the loop. Creativity and judgment are human. The framework is what keeps it all coordinated.

How does NotchForge™ benefit me as a client?

Four things you can count on:

Predictability. The same standard applies to every project. Methodology and quality expectations are clear before the engagement starts.
Transparency. Quality assurance is documented, not assumed. Easier to evaluate, faster to approve.
Compliance. Both are scoped from the start, with rigor matched to the engagement.
Consistency. Standards persist across teams. They’re built into the system, not dependent on any individual.

Does NotchForge™ apply to every engagement?

Yes. The methodology holds regardless of what’s being built or how the project is structured. That’s the point. The governance layer is always on.
