IoT positioning app set in place

QUICK LINKS
Overview
Spotsie is an energy-efficient positioning solution based on the Internet of Things (IoT) technologies. It provides detailed location data on static and moving objects in indoor and outdoor environments.
Lots of conferences today have mobile apps that eliminate the need for printed material by pushing schedule updates or important announcements. But for Spotsie, that was not enough.
Spotsie architectured a Bluetooth-based beacon system to handle indoor attendee location. They wanted to help attendees to meet each other by matching mutual interests. They also wanted to provide organizers with real-time reports on congestions of conference space.
Challenges
Onboarding and opt-in profiles
For the system to work, the conference mobile app needed super-easy onboarding and opt-in user profiles. The app also required to provide a seamless configuration of beacons that come with conference passes.
Phone complication
The app had to work regardless of the phone model.

Benefits
Notch team managed complexity by providing a simple, tailored solution that targeted the unique needs of the app.
When we took on the project of Agile development of Spotsie’s brandable native apps for both iOS and Android, we dove into the depths of Bluetooth communication.
We covered as many as 30 of the popular phone models.
Client

“Notch team helped us create a beautiful native event app that delivers an exceptional user experience, which is of course crucial for the business.”
Spotsie is an IoT-based location solution for EX environments and large facilities. The solution provides cost-effective and high-accuracy positioning and navigation, keeping your resources under control and within reach with undeniable work logs, real-time alerts on zone breaches, and accident alarms in both outdoor and indoor environments.
Outcome
Both Spotsie and Notch teams were super-excited to see the MVP’s performance in real life, surrounded by a myriad of beacons. The app was playing along, and the attendees were opting-in to its social networking part. The app received a high rating on the conference feedback forms.
